UNITED STATES BORDER PATROL BUILD MOBILE TENTS FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AT BORDER

The temporary shelters were built to address illegal immigrant capacity issues in Eagle Pass, Texas.

On June 4, construction of several shelters were completed. These structures will be utilized as temporary holding areas for illegal immigrant family units awaiting processing. 

These shelters will be staffed by Border Patrol agents for security, have air conditioning & heat, and are equipped with power and water needed to maintain detainee safety and hygiene.

Since October 2018, the Del Rio Sector in Texas has arrested over 34,000 people, almost 18,000 of which have been family units. This is more than a 200 percent increase in total arrests, and a 1000 percent increase in family unit arrests compared to the same time last year.
