A man was arrested on a number of charges after going on a rampage in a hospital emergency room on Saturday June 8, 2019.
Kyle Cahill, 29, fought with staff at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC, including a security guard.
In the midst of a mental evaluation medical treatment Kyle began swinging his arms and spitting at hospital staff. Kyle then took a taser gun from a hospital security guard’s holster and fired it at a female nurse, hitting the nurse.
During the struggle, Kyle bit another female nurse in the emergency room.
Kyle is homeless and was charged with public disorderly conduct and two counts of third-degree assault and battery.
Hospital Vice President Anthony Jackson said:
“Anyone who assaults a police officer, teacher or lawmaker faces harsher consequences. Healthcare workers deserve the same kind of protection.”
