WOMAN KILLED ON 4TH OF JULY, SOMEONE CLOSE TO HER WAS KILLED WEEKS AGO

A woman is dead after a July 4, 2019 shooting. The shooting was in Charlotte, NC on Oakwinds Court.

Khira Mckinley is identified as the victim.

An assault with a deadly weapon 911 call sent officers racing to the scene. When they arrived, they located an adult female inside of a vehicle who was pronounced deceased on scene.

A close person to Khira was killed just a few weeks ago at a swimming pool. Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to canvass the area and conduct the investigation. Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, Medic and Operations Command also responded to the scene.

This is the 3rd murder in Charlotte this month.

The first involved a man shot and killed on July 1.

The second involved a woman being stabbed to death.
