A 35-year-old female identified as Ruijuan Guo was shot and killed during a robbery on East Park Avenue Charlotte, NC. Her friend Joe Fuqua was with her during the robbery, but was not killed on scene. Joe was a suspect in the robbery until he was killed days later.
As of today, the hunt is still on for the real killer.
Ruijuan was a school teacher who was in the United States to teach Mandarin to elementary students in Union County.
During the evening of September 9, 2016, a robbery escalated when one of the suspects shot Ruijuan.
Ruijuan was pronounced deceased 5 days later at Carolinas Medical Center in the presence of her family. Joe Fuqua, who was with Ruijuan at the time of the robbery, was found murdered on September 12, 2016.
Fuqua is believed to be a suspect in Ruijuan’s death, but detectives do not believe he is the one who shot her; rather, Fuqua was killed because he knew who committed the murder.
