Cortez Springs, 19, is charged in the Charlotte, NC murder of Octavion McClellan, 17.
As a result of continued investigation into this case, Cortez was identified as a suspect and warrants for his arrest were issued.
Octavion was shot in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Octavion was transported to Atrium Health Carolina’s Medical Center, but he died at the hospital. It is alleged that Cortez was trying to rob Octavion.
On July 31 detectives located and arrested Cortez. The suspect is charged with murder and three counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
