MARIJUANA CONCEALED IN TIRES AT NIAGRA FALLS

Date:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers alongside their K-9 partner at the Rainbow Bridge discovered 48 pounds of marijuana inside a cargo van.

On August 12 officers and a K-9 team working at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagra Falls, NY arrested two United States citizens after they discovered 48 pounds of marijuana concealed inside spare tires. The K-9 team alerted to all five spare tires in the back of the cargo van and further inspection inside the tires revealed sealed marijuana packages.

The contents of the bags field-tested positive for the properties of marijuana and had a domestic street-value of approximately $45,000.

Both U.S. citizens were processed, turned over to the Department of Homeland Security, and subsequently referred to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
