CHARLOTTE OFFICER ARRESTED, CHARGED WITH DRUNK DRIVING

CMPD Police Officer Nicholas Ivy-Brooks, 23, was arrested on September 7, 2019 around 2 a.m. in Pineville, NC.

Officers with the Pineville Police Department notified the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department that they charged Nicholas with Driving While Impaired and Failure to Stop at a Red Light.

Nicholas was hired on October 22, 2018. Nicholas was a probationary Police Officer. All CMPD officers are placed on a one-year probationary period after they are sworn in. As is standard procedure when an officer is accused of a crime, a separate internal investigation will be conducted by the CMPD.
