FATHER KILLED DURING HURRICANE HELENE IN WEST CHARLOTTE, FALLING TREE

Date:

Anthony Taylor, 62, was killed on September 27, 2024 by the rain and force winds of Hurricane Helene in Charlotte, NC while his wife and children were inside. The rain and wind forced a tree down onto Anthony.

At 5:05 a.m. the hurricane caused a tree to come down on Brookway Drive. The heavy rain made the ground around the tree very soft, the wind along with the weight of the tree forced it to come down onto the victim’s house. Several kids were in the house at the time of the tree crash. The tree fell on Anthony’s bedroom, he was killed instantly. Another adult was in the house, who made it out alive along with the children.

Hurricane Helene began in the Gulf of Mexico but made its way all the way up to the edges of North Carolina. Heavy wind and rain barraged the Charlotte area.

Anthony leaves behind a wife and loving children.
