ROCK HILL MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER ALLEGED SHOOTING

60-year-old Mark Hayden is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after officials say he shot at a vehicle Wednesday morning.

The incident happened on September 25, 2019 around 11am outside a home on Florence Street Rock Hill, SC. A male victim was dropping a friend off at a home when Mark allegedly came outside with a handgun.

As the victim drove away, officials say Mark fired a shot at his vehicle.

When officers responded to the residence, officials claim they found two bullet casings and a stolen firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.

Mark was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence, and Possession of a Stolen Pistol.

Finley Road Elementary School was placed on lock down as a precaution. No one was injured in the shooting.
