SWAT INCIDENT NEAR EASTWAY DRIVE LEADS TO ARREST

On Wednesday, November 6, 2019 Violent Criminal Apprehension Team detectives initiated an attempt to locate operation on McKelvey Street Charlotte, NC.

The suspect Nicholas McReed, 27, had robbery warrants. Responding detectives made contact with the suspect who refused to come out of a residence and barricaded himself inside.

Officers relocated nearby residents as a precaution. Members of the SWAT Team and Negotiators were activated and responded to the scene, set up a perimeter and attempted to make contact with Nicholas. 

After multiple attempts to make contact with Nicholas, he exited the residence and was taken into custody. 

Nicholas was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
