$142,000 CASH SEIZED IN MONEY SMUGGLING ATTEMPT

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers arrested a Mexican national man for an alleged attempt to smuggle nearly $142,000 in unreported money on Veterans Day 2019.

Officers conducting outgoing operations in Nogales, Arizona referred the 28-year-old man for additional inspection of his Chevy SUV, as he attempted to enter Mexico through the port.

The search of the vehicle led to the discovery of several packages within the left quarter panel of the Chevy vehicle. The packages contained more than $142,000 in unreported U.S. cash.

The cash was seized and the suspect was arrested.
