MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO TRAFFICKING HEROIN, HIS DRUG CASH WILL GO TO SCHOOL SYSTEM

Date:

In February 2020 Tyler Andujar, 21, pled guilty to trafficking in heroin by possession in Charlotte, NC. Tyler’s drug proceeds will now go to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.

In January 2019 police stopped Tyler’s vehicle for traffic violations. The officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked for consent to search.

Tyler granted consent, and police found $3,000 in his front pocket. In a subsequent search of his vehicle, police located a bag that contained approximately 7.5 grams of heroin and other drugs.

During an interview, Tyler admitted that the drugs belonged to him. When police executed a search warrant at Tyler’s house, they located additional drugs and several firearms. A Judge ordered that the suspected drug money seized in the investigation be given to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

As mandated under North Carolina’s trafficking laws, Tyler was sentenced to 70-93 months in prison.
