YOUNG MAN MURDERED IN CHARLOTTE AT THE HEIGHT OF CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation on Morningside Drive Charlotte, NC. A young man identified as Reginald Deveaux, 16, was gunned down and killed.

On April 2, 2020 officers responded to a shooting located in the parking lot of a gas station on Morningside Drive. When they arrived, they located Reggie with apparent gunshot wounds.

Reggie was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital approximately 1 hour later.

Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives from the CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD, and MEDIC also assisted.

This marks the 11th murder in Charlotte during the Coronavirus.
