SHERIFF’S DEPUTY DIES FROM CORONAVIRUS, GOT INFECTED BY INMATE

Date:

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Terrell Young, 54, died from the Coronavirus after being infected by an inmate in Murrieta, CA. Terrell died on April 2, 2020.

Deputy Terrell was a 15-year veteran and the department’s first to die from COVID-19.

Authorities believe Terrell’s exposure to the virus was on the week of March 16, 2020 when he escorted an inmate from jail to a hospital in Moreno Valley. Terrell returned the inmate to his jail cell that same day. On March 22, Terrell arrived at his work station at the jail and fell ill, reporting a fever. The next day, Terrell and nine other employees called in sick, reporting Coronavirus like symptoms.

Terrell died nearly two weeks later. 25 sheriff’s employees have tested positive for Coronavirus.
