MECKLENBURG COUNTY JAIL GUARD TESTS POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS

A detention officer at the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte, NC has tested positive for the Coronavirus.

The officer reported to the Mecklenburg County Jail on Friday, April 3 and was screened before proceeding to their shift. During screening the officer exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 and was advised by medical staff to return home and seek testing.

The detention officer was tested for the virus on April 3-5 2020 and tested positive. Inmates may of been infected.
