ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER VEHICLE PURSUIT

Ishmeel Chapman, 19, is accused of robbing a Dollar General store in Charlotte, NC.

On April 23, 2020, around 2:35 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at the Dollar General located at 8825 WT Harris Boulevard. Two armed suspects entered the business, physically assaulted an employee, and took cash belonging to the business. The suspects then fled the scene in a black passenger vehicle.

The Real Time Crime Center was able to locate the suspect vehicle and direct responding officers to its location. 

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle; however, the driver refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle caused a single-vehicle collision on Kimmerly Glen Lane. 

Ishmeel is accused of being an occupant of the vehicle and allegedly attempted to flee on foot, but he was quickly arrested. No other vehicles were involved in the collision, and no one was injured.

Ishmeel is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and flee to elude.
