Date:

On September 4, 2020 Dalton Hopkins, 20, was arrested after a vehicle pursuit took place that began on LaSalle Street Charlotte, NC. The chase went all the way into Huntersville.

Dalton has 40 outstanding warrants for his arrest, including two counts of attempted murder.

September 4 was the day of the high speed chase. A traffic stop was attempted on Dalton as he was driving a black Nissan Altima, but he refused to stop.

During the vehicle pursuit, Dalton traveled on I-77 northbound into Huntersville. While on I-77, Dalton struck two vehicles while fleeing police. Dalton then exited off of I-77 onto Statesville Road and hit a 3rd vehicle at Jeff Adams Drive.

Dalton drove the suspect vehicle off the road, and then fled on foot into some woods. As officers were pulling to the side of the road to continue to pursue Dalton, two marked patrol cars were involved in a minor crash when one struck the other. Dalton was apprehended without further incident approximately ten minutes later. A firearm was located and seized from inside the vehicle Dalton was driving.
