HOUSE OF PRAYER ORDERED TO CLOSE IN CHARLOTTE, 4 DEAD FROM CHURCH GATHERING

Date:

On October 24, 2020 Mecklenburg County Public Health announced that an Abatement of Imminent Hazard Order has been issued to the United House of Prayer for All People due to the COVID-19 outbreak associated with the convocation events that were held Oct. 4-11, 2020. The convocation was held at the 2321 Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC location.

The Imminent Hazard Order is a tool available to public health officials to use to further prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The order will be used at all House of Prayer for All People locations in Mecklenburg County.

The order says that 4 people have died due to getting Coronavirus at the convocation. Over 100 people that attended the event now have Coronavirus.

Mecklenburg County Public Health Director Gibbie Harris says:

“We have taken this action out of an abundance of caution to prevent the COVID-19 virus from further spreading in our community. This type of order is rare, but sometimes necessary. It prevents the church from opening or allowing any further gathering, making sure we stop this outbreak from going any further.”

The order lasts until November 6, 2020. The United House of Prayer for All People was ordered to clean all indoor services.
