MAN MURDERED IN FOOD LION PARKING LOT, 2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED

On April 22, 2021 Xavier East, 22, and 23-year-old Divine Miller were arrested after 28-year-old De’Anthony Ellis was shot and killed at a Food Lion parking lot at 9021 Albemarle Road Charlotte, NC.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on April 21, 2021, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Food Lion parking lot. De’Anthony had been shot and was seriously injured. De’Anthony was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The 2 suspects were shot too.

During the investigation, Xavier and Divine arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. An investigation between Homicide Unit detectives determined Xavier and Divine were the suspects in this case. 

After being treated at the hospital, Xavier and Divine were interviewed by detectives. At the conclusion of their interviews, they were both transferred to the custody of the jail and charged with murder.
