MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING VICTIM IN FRONT OF PARAMEDICS

Prentice Bess, 32, is accused of murdering Jeremy Whitted, 34, at a Days Inn motel on 118 East Woodlawn Road Charlotte, NC on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. 

This is the 6th murder in Charlotte that has occurred during the Coronavirus pandemic. The other 5 murders all occurred close to within a week of each other.

There was a disturbance at the Days Inn motel called in by the on-site security guard at 3:46 a.m. 

Paramedics were also dispatched to the scene to treat one of the individuals involved in the disturbance identified as Jeremy. While medical personnel were treating the victim in their ambulance, the suspect allegedly shot the victim dead while paramedics watched in horror. 

Prentice was immediately arrested on site. Blood splatter was everywhere but the paramedics on scene were not injured. The medics may need emotional and PTSD counseling after witnessing such a horrific scene.
