Kerry Shipman, 33, is a Mecklenburg County judge, he was arrested on January 13, 2025 accused of assaulting a man at luxury apartments on 620 N. Church St. Charlotte, NC. Judge Shipman owns a business called Resolute, the company helps people that have been arrested get on their feet, offering them a second chance in life. Now it looks like Judge Shipman needs a second chance.

Upon arrival it was determined the alleged assault was domestic related. The male victim stated he lived with Judge Shipman since November 2024. Judges get arrested quite often.
A fight between the two men allegedly occurred at the apartment. The male victim had visible signs of injuries to his lower lips and scratches on his nose.
Cops arrested the judge charging him with simple assault. Judge Shipman has children and a family. It is not known how the male victim is acquainted with the judge.
Judge Shipman is from New York, he attended law school at Charleston School of Law and later became a judge. Judge Shipman is also a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
